Edinburgh Woodcraft Folk

Edinburgh Woodcraft Folk is part of the UK charity Woodcraft Folk.

At present Edinburgh Woodcraft groups are located in Bruntsfield, Portobello and Leith.

The Woodcraft Folk is a movement of young people brought together by a few important goals

  • to make the world a better place
  • to rid the world of discrimination
  • and to make friends, everywhere

With these principles the Woodcraft Folk has been running for over 80 years now and has around 18000 members.

As the issue of Climate Change becomes more important to us, the Woodcraft Folk are already doing something about it. And you are invited to join them! No matter what background you come from, the Woodcraft Folk is an all inclusive young persons organisation, run by its members.

At weekly meetings you can get involved with crafts, discussions, games and drama activities but as all members are equal and everyone cooperates it's up to the group what goes on.

Camping, hostelling, and enjoying the surrounding environment are also a feature and the Woodcraft Folk has links with similar organisations around the world so international youth exchanges are a regular feature of our programme.
